To most people, this week seems normal, but at GetMyFirstJob we're very busy because it's National Apprenticeship Week from 5th-9th March!

During the week employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.

Part of the Nationwide Apprenticeship Campaign

As part of the Government's National Apprenticeship Week campaign, the Big Assembly is a record-breaking webinar on careers advice for schools, careers advisors, young people and employers. Last year over 10,000 attended the live stream, which this year will be introduced by the Education Secretary, Damian Hinds. The Big Assembly is much bigger than last year, so you may be one of the 2 million people that we have promoted the Big Assembly to!

What is the Big Assembly like?

The format of the Big Assembly is a bit like question time live shown through Vimeo, although it's an hour long lots is going to be covered!

- Pre-recorded introduction
- Pre-recorded video of the Minister
- Live question time from Nottingham College

While there are many events supporting National Apprenticeship Week, the BIGGEST event you need to know about is The Big Assembly. With collaborators including DfE, DWP, National Skills Academies, Federation of Small Businesses, UCAS, The Student Room, Parent Teacher Association and National society for Apprentices...to name a few.

'This event is one you won't want to miss!'

We are joined by the East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and Workpays to create the second Big Assembly, with support from The National Apprenticeship Service and a range of employers committed to Apprenticeships.

This year is focused on diversity and social mobility - you'll hear from Apprentices and employers who'll be sharing their stories and inviting questions from a live and virtual audience through this interactive broadcast. GetMyFirstJob will also be there to help answer any questions you have!

Helen Richardson, the Big Assembly Producer and Managing Director of Workpays was bowled over after the last big assembly and is sure "This year is going to be bigger, better and more interactive with an opportunity to put your questions to a panel of apprentices and employers."

Employers and apprentices will be sharing their experiences by combining commissioned films by apprentices with a live Q&A with experts.

You're invited to the Big Assembly!
