Riding holiday leaders take individuals and groups out on treks.
There's no set entry route but you may find it useful to do a college course, which would teach you some of the skills and knowledge you need in this job. Subjects include a Level 2 Certificate in Horse Care or a Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management.
You'll usually need 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or equivalent, for a Level 2 course. You'll need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, for a Level 3 course.

Racehorse trainers run stables, manage staff, look after horses' training and welfare, and prepare them for races.
Animal technicians look after animals in research laboratories.
Dog handlers work with specially trained dogs to help detect and prevent crime, find lost or missing people and protect property.
Football referees officiate at football matches, from local youth and amateur leagues up to professional level.
Gamekeepers manage countryside areas used for shooting and fishing.

This sports coaching apprenticeship offer the opportunity to gain coaching qualifications. The work in this apprenticeship is often community-based, including coaching various sports such as football, multi sport to a wide range of age ranges and community groups including schools, care homes and youth clubs.
