Tell us more about your experience
My daily role at Tableau Salesforce is as an analyst. I am part of the Sales Operations team, working under other data analysts. My team is divided into two sectors: ‘Territory and Planning’ and ‘Performance and Analytics’. I’m part of the Performance and Analytics group which means I focus on making our dashboards and visuals look great and easy to understand.
So far, I’ve been training on Tableau software and their bootcamps so I can take this even further. On a day-to-day basis, I have meetings with my team where I report what I’ll be doing for the week, and weekly catch-ups with my manager to stay on track and monitor my performance. Bi-weekly, I have coaching sessions with Multiverse, with Fridays as my apprenticeship workday. This is when I can learn my different modules, complete pre-application work, and apply my learning of Excel and PowerBi.
The most exciting project I’ve worked on so far has been ‘Cleaning data’ as part of shadowing the Territory and Planning team. I was able to use the Excel skills that I’ve picked up over my apprenticeship and conduct loads of research. One of my proudest moments was getting amazing feedback from my coach and manager on my first progress review.
“I really wanted to get a head start in my career, and an apprenticeship was a way to do so!”
One of the reasons I chose an apprenticeship is because after finishing my A-Levels in 2020, I had to go to university in the middle of the pandemic and absolutely hated the experience. Then I came across Multiverse – it was an amazing platform for people like me who wanted to get a head start in their career. If you’re also considering an apprenticeship, I would say to just go for it! Doing an apprenticeship won’t harm and there’s no debt. You’ll have work experience and a qualification at the end that you can use to create your own career.
When I was at university, I began to apply for apprenticeships at the same time; I didn’t want to drop out without a plan. Rejection was one of the biggest barriers I faced, but I kept trying my best and harder each time – and I managed to be successful! My employer does everything to support me, such as providing a mentor, giving me days off to study, weekly catch-ups and monthly feedback on my performance. They give me a ramp plan to follow so that I always have something to do.
Multiverse also provides loads of resources for my modules, group coaching sessions every month, progress reviews, community programmes, and one-to-one support. As part of my apprenticeship, I’ve developed loads of skills that I think will be useful in my future career, like data analysis, communication, and time management. After my apprenticeship, I see myself as a qualified data technician working in the Performance and Analytics team!
