Actuaries work with companies and government departments, to help them forecast long-term financial costs and investment risks.
You can get into this job by doing a degree and then joining a graduate actuarial training scheme. Most employers will look for a degree with a high level of mathematical skills. For example:
You'll usually need 2 or 3 A-Levels, or equivalent, including maths.
You'll usually need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A-Levels, for a higher or Level 6 (degree) apprenticeship.
Volunteering

Tax inspectors make sure the correct amount of tax is paid and investigate cases of fraud.
Tax advisers help clients plan their finances to make sure they're paying the right amount of tax.
Chief executives lead their organisation and put plans and policies into place to help it be successful.
