Logistics and Supply Chain
Couriers collect packages, documents and messages, and deliver them to customers.
You'll need:
You'll need to have a full driving licence. You'll need a licence for the type of vehicle you'll be driving and a good driving record. Your employer may supply you with a delivery van, but if you're self-employed you'll need your own vehicle. You'll use your own motorbike if you want to work as a motorcycle courier.
Your day-to-day duties may include: c
With experience, you could become a depot controller or start your own courier business. You could also train to drive large goods vehicles (LGVs).
Delivery van drivers collect parcels from a depot and deliver them to customers.
Shelf fillers put stock out on supermarket shelves and in display cabinets. They also remove out of date items and help customers.
Road transport managers make sure goods and passengers reach their destinations safely, on time and in the most cost-effective way.
Large goods vehicle (LGV) and heavy goods vehicle (HGV) lorry drivers transport and deliver goods between suppliers and customers.
Supply chain managers organise the movement of goods and materials from suppliers and manufacturers to customers.
Packers work in factories and warehouses, putting products into containers like boxes and crates for delivery.
As a graduate, your three-year development programme will be made up of up to six placement rotations.
