You could find work in any branch of manufacturing, like automotive, food and drink, pharmaceuticals or electronics. You could work towards incorporated or chartered engineer status. As an incorporated engineer, you would specialise in the day-to-day management of engineering operations. At chartered level, you would have a more strategic role, planning, researching and developing new ideas and streamlining management methods.
Motor vehicle fitters repair and replace worn or damaged tyres, exhausts, batteries and parts.
Sterile services technicians clean and decontaminate equipment used in hospital operating theatres, clinics and wards.
Locksmiths install, repair and maintain locks for homes and businesses.
Non-destructive testing (NDT) technicians test materials and components used in buildings, structures and machinery.
Vehicle body repairers mend damaged vehicle parts and bodywork using metalworking and finishing techniques.
Electronics engineering technicians design, build and maintain electronic systems and components.

Your apprenticeship will last 36 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Water Industry Treatment Process Technician, Level: 3 (wastewater pathway) standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.You will need to be mobile in this role, well contribute up to 500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!
