Sales administrators process sales orders and payments, arrange deliveries and offer after-sales support.
You'll usually need 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or the equivalent, for a Level 2 course. 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, are required for a Level 3 course.
You'll usually need 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, for a Level 3 apprenticeship.

With experience, you could become a sales admin team leader, personal assistant or office manager.
Petrol station sales assistants sell fuel and other items to customers in garage forecourt shops.
Shopkeepers manage their own stores or run stores on behalf of a retail chain.
Cinema and theatre attendants help customers visiting entertainment shows.
Farm secretaries are responsible for the day-to-day running of the business side of farms.
Recruitment consultants help employers find suitable staff, and match people to permanent and temporary jobs.
School business managers oversee the efficient day-to-day running of a school and support the headteacher and leadership team.

Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in sales and customer service. We expect you to be a reliable professional, able to balance customer orientation and a results driven approach.
