Description

As an apprentice at The Learning Experience you will ensure the health and safety of the children in the nursery is the number one priority and contribute to the high standards of care and education.

As a level 3 Early Years Apprentice you will:

  • Deliver and plan rich learning opportunities; in line with The Learning Experience LEAP framework and Core Advantage / EYFS.
  • Provide outstanding care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours and where required, support local nurseries.
  • Monitor, observe and assess children; and implement activities which reflect the needs, interests and stages of development of the individual child.
  • Provide enabling environments, that provide consistent stimulating and inspiring activities for the children in both the indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Ensure that British Values are incorporated and demonstrated through Core Advantage, LEAP and the Early Years Foundation Stage learning and play.
  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children in line with The Learning Experience's child protection and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered to, whilst also meeting the external legislation and guidelines from our governing bodies.
  • Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing behaviour including supporting children to manage their own feelings and behaviours.
  • Continually work in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of the children.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication at all levels.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuous professional development.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the nursery demands.

  • GCSE maths and English or equivalent at a level 1 (grade 3) preferred.
  • Option for skills Bootcamp course to start accelerated apprenticeship at level 3 for the right candidate.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. The Learning Experience will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator

• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered through The Learning Experience's dedicated training provider, Realise.
