IT Resource Group works alongside the private and public sector, ensuring best possible management of the lifecycle of their IT assets on a manner that is environmentally friendly and socially responsible



They do this in a way that is flexible to the client’s needs whilst offering a value return for computer disposal



Their nationwide collections are services by two main sites in Durham and Milton Keynes, each site is licensed by the environment agency to collect transport and recycle WEEE waste.



Job overview: 



The IT apprentice will be bought in to support all IT functions within IT Resource Group, you will be dealing with all things hardware and software focused. From installing and uninstalling software, Computer repairs, Diagnostics, disposal and security. You will need to be a self-starter and quicker thinker to work your way around problems within IT.



Main role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:





  • Logging in PCs from jobs.


  • Physical set up of PCs


  • Software configuration


  • Test whether the PC works or not and spec it up, e.g. see if it’s a I3 or Duel Core etc


  • Testing computer drivers (DVD drive, keyboard etc. )


  • Wipe hard drives of any data


  • Troubleshooting PCs


  • Fixing PCs


  • Replacing parts and components


  • Further testing of PCs (Software & Hardware)


  • Security Tests


  • Disposal (Hard Drives, Software, Data & Equipment)




Desired qualities, skills and knowledge: 





  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service ethic whilst maintaining a professional and friendly manner.


  • A pro-active and enthusiastic team player, capable of working on own initiative.


  • Ability and tenacity for effective problem solving.


  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose common problems quickly providing immediate solutions.


  • Ability to work well under pressure.


  • Ability to prioritise multiple, concurrent tasks and to continue to answer support calls while researching on-going issues.


  • Ability to consistently deliver quality answers to our customers and to follow-up any outstanding issues.


  • Flexible attitude to fit in with a work rota / environment that may be subject to change.




Entry requirements:





  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject


  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)


  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject




You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.



If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week: 





  • Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm, 9am – 4pm on Fridays. 37.5 hours per week [all details will be confirmed with the employer upon interview]




Salary: 





  • £14000 per annum, [all details will be confirmed with the employer upon interview]
