Description
The school, which has strong links to the church and local community, is looking for an apprentice teaching assistant to work in the classroom, supporting the teaching staff within that specific class, to;
- Keep children safe and implement our safeguarding procedures appropriately.
- Build effective relationships with the parents and children and meeting their children’s individual care and learning needs.
- Supervise, observe, encourage and support the children in meeting their personal targets.
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures set out by the school.
- To work as part of a team and with outside agencies supporting children’s needs appropriately.
- Get the classroom ready for lessons, listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories.
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
- Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records.
- Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour.
- Supervising group activities.
- Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons.
- Helping with outings and sports events.
- Taking part in training.
- Carrying out administrative tasks

Must have GCSE maths and English level 4 or above. (Grade C)A level 2 in early years or previous experience working with children is advantageous.
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Newbold CE Primary School will
provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your
role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your
working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard
- CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (by exception)

Realise.
