Description
It is important that you are comfortable working on the telephone and strive to provide an excellent customer service experience. You will be welcoming new clients to the Firm and assisting with new client due diligence processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Taking initial
instructions from potential clients, engaging both verbally on the
telephone and in writing
- The opening of new case
files, including the creation of the file and the despatch of a client
care pack to each new client.
Arranging sign up appointments if necessary
- Producing quotes and
forwarding these on to potential clients within agreed timescales. Following up the quote as a courtesy
with the potential client if the potential client does not engage
immediately
- Understanding of money
laundering rules and requesting original ID from new clients in order to
satisfy this legal requirement
- Undertaking conflict
searches and understanding of the need for these to be carried out
vigilantly
- Updating clients/sources
in a timely manner
- Receiving and actioning
calls and enquiries from various external agencies such as solicitors,
conveyancers and estate agents, giving an update on their client file
- Ensuring that if the
initial quote does not convert into a live case, the case file is closed
immediately

- The desire to give an excellent customer service experience

Paralegal Level 3 apprenticeship standard

Progression is available in the Firm once an individual has
demonstrated their competence in the Paralegal role. The next natural progression route is to be
appointed as an Assistant to a Fee Earner as and when the opportunity arises.
