2-week classroom-based
training starting on the 23rd of September, where you will achieve
an accredited qualification in either customer service or retail followed by a
4 day work placement starting on the 7th of October, where you will
be provided with a buddy. On the last day of the placement you will be provided
with a guaranteed interview, along with feedback. Hopefully you would have done
well throughout your placement and be provided with an offer of a paid
position.

We know that working and learning can be a challenge,
that’s why you’ll have a network of people to support you, from expert 1-1 pastoral
support from the Prince’s Trust to a dedicate Lifetime apprenticeship coach,
they'll be someone there every step of the way. You'll also be welcomed by our
friendly store team and given a buddy who will be on hand to offer advice as
well as guide and support you throughout your time with us.
No Qualifications required
During your time with us we will support you with training
to help you understand and experience the role of a Customer Assistant.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. • Being a customer assistant in
one of our stores means that you will be part of a team of colleague who help
to serve our customers. • You’ll be supported throughout your time with us by
the friendly store team • You’ll get to meet lots of people, learn new things
and build your confidence What will I be doing? • You’ll get the chance to work
in different areas of the stores, take a look on the next page to find out more
You will have a ‘buddy’ who will show what to do and how we: • Serve our
customers • Fill our shelves • Pick products for customer orders You can ask
your buddy if you can watch how we serve our customer on our checkouts. Just
remember: • all we ask is that you are helpful, friendly and flexible • ask
someone if you are unsure of anything, we are all here to help
Wear black trousers
and a plain white shirt. If you have a dark fleece/jumper please bring this
with you as there are some areas in the store, where you may feel the cold.
Also, comfortable dark flat shoes are best as you are on your feet throughout
your placement.
The interview will take place on the last day of your
placement and your buddy will let you know the time. It’s your chance to share
what you have learnt during your placement and an opportunity to talk about
-your successes and things you feel passionate about. Use your learning log to
structure your conversation and to provide examples.
