Description

Duties include:

  • Assisting the Finance Manager in all finance related matters, including high levels of finance administration.
  • Updating records onto a database and developing reporting tools.
  • Bookkeeping for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies and other Organisations for a range of industry types that vary in size.
  • Preparation of VAT Returns and dealing with associated VAT work.
  • Payroll preparation for a range of clients.
  • Preparation of Sole Trader, Partnership and Limited Company Accounts. Completion of Individual and Company Tax Work.
  • Ad-hoc Business and Tax Advice and Advisory engagements as required.
  • Other sundry work to meet the needs of the clients and the organisation.
  • Working with the other colleagues to ensure all tasks are closed off on all projects at the end of each working day.
  • To work with a wider team and on an ad hoc basis respond to inbound calls relating to client enquiries.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2.

This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)
  • Business Environment (BESY)
  • EPA - In Tray exercise

An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off the job training, as well as completing knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.

  • Independence: being able to work on your own initiative and complete tasks without constant supervision.
  • Problem-solving: being able to identify and resolve issues that may arise in your work, using logical and creative thinking.

  • Self-motivation: being able to set your own goals and pursue them with enthusiasm and determination, seeking feedback and learning from your mistakes.
  • Adaptability: being able to adjust to changing situations and expectations, embracing new challenges and opportunities.
