Description

As our level 3 business apprentice you will assist in providing administration support for the charity. The post holder will work as part of the administration team to ensure that the service provided meets the requirement of departments within the Foundation.

This includes developing and promoting Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation Retail outlets and opportunities across social media and the listing, selling and promotion of donated items on eBay, with the aim of increasing sales, utilising community groups to increase donations and volunteers within retail. Increase RCLCF visibility to a wider audience.

This is a great role within our administration team and would suit someone starting their career and looking to gain experience in a small administration team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answering the telephone and transferring calls
  • Greeting visitors and providing refreshments (if required)
  • Providing administration support for the Charity's campaigns and appeals
  • Data entry and processing of data for our CRM database (Raisers Edge)
  • Support with the preparation for mailings
  • Raisers Edge input of some third party donor platforms
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and general office duties
  • Opening & processing incoming mail (when required)
  • Franking outgoing mail (when required)
  • Processing mass mail and packages
  • Checking and processing Foundation email inbox (when required)
  • Updating staff phone list
  • Provide cover for other members of the Administration team if and when required.

What we can offer you

  • Full-time Head Office staff work 34 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm, with 1 hour for lunch
  • 30 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (pro rata) with the start of the annual leave year being in January.
  • Christmas shutdown in head office.
  • Pension provision with NOW pension (this will be age and wage reliant)
  • Time off in Lieu

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Articulate and clear telephone manner
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use Windows (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Must have a reasonable level of numeracy ie able to perform simply addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

· Must have Maths and English GCSE grade 9-4

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. RCLCF will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Business Admin L3 apprenticeship standard, which includes:

•Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

• Business Admin L3 Apprenticeship Standard

•Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered through RCLCF's dedicated training provider, Realise.
