Job DescriptionAs a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of a growing, supportive, and inclusive Quantity Surveying team, responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of suppliers on a large repair & maintenance utilities framework.

Within this role you will be working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors, providing value to the business through assessment of supplier’s Application for Payment. This role will be hybrid home/office working.

What you’ll be doing as Trainee Quantity Surveyor

  • Reconciling suppliers' Application for Payment with site records
  • Checking measurements of works carried out using site record photos
  • Ensuring correct contract rates/ measurement rules are followed within the Application for Payment
  • Checking and processing a variety of high volume, low value jobs
  • Identifying, investigating, and sharing commercial risks and quality findings
  • Maintaining good communication with line manager as well as within the team to ensure risks / opportunities relating to works are raised early
Location – Hybrid working based at Clearwater Court, Reading
Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role
  • Possess meticulous attention to detail & accuracy
  • Have strong numeracy skills
  • Have excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate key issues effectively
  • Have excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and have the ability to pick up the use of multiple IT systems / software
  • Be able to work independently
  • Have excellent time management skills in the completion of key tasks within set deadlines
