Job Description
We are looking for a self-motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team of Meter Readers in our Bocking Elm's / Clacton area.
As a Meter Reader, you will spend your time out and about in our supply region, taking water meter readings in line with our billing schedules to inform customers of their water usage.
The Role:
You'll prioritise your daily workload to ensure that that all meters are read in a timely and efficient manner by way of drive by or walk by. You'll also identify faults with reading equipment or installed meters, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve these faults.
What you'll be doing:
- Working to a set schedule, you'll need to be excellent at managing your time, meeting deadlines and prioritising your workload. You'll also be comfortable working alone and working with others to solve problems.
- You'll be familiar with using core IT systems such as MS Excel, and you can quickly pick up the systems involved to read meters accurately and provide relevant information and reports.
- Whilst experience in water or the broader utilities industry is beneficial, this isn't essential as we'll invest the time to ensure you're fully trained to industry best practise. You're a self-starter with a great work ethic and who's keen to learn.
- You will need a full UK driving licence. Travelling between sites couldn't be easier as you'll be given a company van to get yourself around.

- Salary: £19,460 - £27,800 (dependent on skills and experience).
- Hours of work: 08:00am - 16:00pm (Monday - Thursday) 08:00am - 15:30pm (Friday)
