Enstar is a leading global insurance group that delivers innovative insurance solutions through our network of group companies. Assist Enstar management team to develop and generate standard operational and client data to proactively monitor and manage claims and perform data culling and analysis to support current and future business needs including migrations of new clients



Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 



Training on the Data Analyst L4 pathway will include 20% off the job training to complete tasks related to this apprenticeship.



Salary: £24,000 per annum.



Duties: 





  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the central EU Claims Database and related Power BI dashboards and extract reporting, ensuring quality and integrity at all times


  • Mining and extracting data from different internal sources / systems, e.g. Business Objects Environment, Claims data warehouse, Policy data marts and various other sources


  • Analyse key performance indicators (KPI’s) to understand / monitor trends in the underlying claims data and apply to the life cycle of the claims by applying a variety of statistical techniques


  • Assist with the data integration of newly acquired portfolios to ensure consistent reporting and data quality / integrity


  • Assist with other aspects of data-related analysis and reporting as required, including supporting the US Claims Data & MI team




In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties as required.



What we are looking for:
Essential skills / qualities:  





  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel software including Excel Pivot Tables and Formula Functions


  • Strong financial aptitude for dataset reconciliations to key financial statement reports


  • General understanding of insurance and reinsurance practices / terminology preferred but not essential


  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals in a variety of functions (e.g. finance, claims, operations and actuarial) located in a variety of International and US offices


  • Positive attitude in working through challenging data issues involving consistency, reliability, availability of data


  • Problem-solving aptitude with results-orientation.


  • Self-starter - willingness to work extended hours during key periods and invest time needed to learn on the job




Entry requirements
Standard entry:





  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)


  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
    Plus:


  • 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above 


  • Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)

Future prospects:
90% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. 
Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
