Description

The successful candidate duties will include:

  • Performing bookkeeping using manual records, excel and accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
  • Preparation of VAT returns from raw accounting data.
  • Reconciling data both manually and on accounting software.
  • Reporting directly to senior staff.
  • Scope to develop to produce accounts to trial balance stage, from bookkeeping records.
  • Assisting payroll department in running basic payrolls.
  • Candidate will be given a degree of autonomy in their bookkeeping procedures, to develop their own ways of thinking.
  • As we are a busy accounting firm with over 600 clients, the client must be able to work unsupervised, be receptive to advice and be commercial and logical thinking.

Opportunity to gain a full time role on completion of the apprenticeship. Candidate could have the chance to complete higher qualifications in ACA or ACCA and specialise into payroll preparation (If they wish to follow that field), We are looking for someone long term to develop academically and progress within the firm.
Salary: National Minimum Wage for age with a salary review every 3 months.
