This apprenticeship is offered by Robert Bosch Ltd.

An exciting opportunity has become available at your local Renault dealership, where you will have the chance to learn all aspects of the Autocare Technician role while working as an apprentice.

If you're passionate about cars, Renault will provide you with top-tier training on the latest products and innovations. Dedicated Renault trainers will support you in building your knowledge and developing your skills.

Training will be provided both on the job and at the Renault Training Centre in Doncaster.

We ask for your full commitment to the Apprenticeship Programme, along with the passion and ambition to grow into a skilled Autocare Technician.

There may also be the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship upon successful completion of the Level 2 Autocare Technician standard.

Unless otherwise agreed, this apprenticeship will begin when our next intake starts in Spring 2025.

To qualify, you will need a grade 2 or above in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).

Your duties will include learning the fundamentals of specific vehicle systems, including but not limited to:

  • Steering & Suspension
  • Braking Systems
  • Battery & Charging Systems
  • Exhaust Systems
  • Air-Conditioning Systems

To further support the Level 2 Autocare Technician qualification, additional elements are integrated into the training, such as:

  • Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service
  • Parts and Stock Management
  • ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • FGAS (Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases)
  • Basic Electric Vehicle Awareness

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded the Level 2 Autocare Technician qualification.

No specific skills are required, however an interest in a career in the automotive industry/motor vehicles is essential.

GCSEs grades 2 – 9 (A* - E) or Functional Skills Level 1 in maths and English.

This is a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship, delivered by Robert Bosch Ltd.

Training will be provided on a block release basis at the Alliance Training Centre in Doncaster. This means that your college-based training will take place away from home, and you will need to stay in a hotel for 15 separate weeks (Monday to Friday) during the 24-30 month duration of the apprenticeship.

All costs associated with your training, including accommodation, will be covered by the employer and the apprenticeship programme, so there will be no cost to you or your parents/guardians.

Assessments will be carried out in the workplace by a dedicated training assessor. You will also have a workplace mentor to provide support while you're in the dealership.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the following qualification:

  • Autocare Technician Level 2

There may also be the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship after successfully completing the Level 2 Autocare Technician standard.

• Possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely.

• Passionate about the industry, and committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills.

• Customer focused, able to keep customers experience and safety in mind throughout the service or diagnosis and repair

• Team Player – assist other technicians when workshop is under pressure, and take ownership of any safety issues you identify in the workshop.

• Thorough and able to work with defined processes and guidelines.

• Quality focused with first time fix mentality.

• Honest with high levels of integrity

Possible permanent role after successful completion of the apprenticeship.

The Renault Apprenticeship Programme has been conceived with the aim of developing high calibre Service Technicians and Customer Service Practitioners that are needed to support the future growth of the Renault Dealer Network.

Renault requires bright, ambitious and motivated school leavers who can demonstrate the potential to be future Renault Master Technicians or Customer Service Practitioners.

With advanced tuition and state-of-the art facilities, Apprentices will be developed to meet the demanding servicing and repair requirements of existing and future Renault vehicles.
