As a Control Room Trainee, you will learn & develop, monitoring / managing skills, controlling both distribution and production operating networks, to ensure reliable, sufficient, secure availability of water supplies, meeting the required quality standards needed, for us to meet customer demand and preserve our storage levels, 24/7 365 days a year.

What will you be accountable for?

  • Learn and develop skills required to carry out the following responsibilities:
  • Effective management of the daily supply/demand balance.
  • Day to day communication with operational personnel regard site and system performance.
  • Deployment of operational personnel in response to unplanned operational events and customer impact.
  • Maintain an ‘electronic log’ of operational incidents and events for future reference and reporting.
  • Provide cover and support for peer group during periods of absence and/or vacancies (once competent).

What do you bring to the role?

  • Minimum of Maths and English GCSE’s at C/4 or higher. Further education in a science related field will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of MS Office suite
  • Understanding of telemetry systems would be advantageous
  • Enthusiastic team player demonstrating appositive approach to duties.
  • Introduction to water treatment processes will be provided.
  • Able to demonstrate analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good communication skills with external customers & internal colleagues within the business at all levels.
  • Experience within a process plant operation would be advantageous.
  • The ability to work day/night shifts
