We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.

You’ll take up this crucial role within our laboratory to collect and courier water samples for testing. We offer a range of water testing services both to businesses and individuals wanting to test private water supplies. This means that you’re great speaking to customers to provide a friendly, reliable and professional service.

On a typical day, your sampling round will involve travelling to different customer premises and appointments to collect water samples. You’ll ensure all water sample are packaged correctly and safely returned to the laboratory so that they can be processed for testing. You don’t need any previous experience as we provide lots of training. Instead, you’re well organised and methodical in your approach.

You’ll need to live within a commutable distance to our Laboratory in Farnborough, Hampshire. Customer sampling and collections runs include travel to Kent, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and the Birmingham area.

Working hours are generally completed between 9-6 depending on the run assigned and traffic conditions. Therefore, some flexibility is needed to cover our operating hours between 7am-7pm. We’ll provide access to a company vehicle.

What will you mainly be responsible for delivering?

  • Ensure the timely collection of water samples from company and clients premises and for transporting these back to our laboratory in Farnborough.
  • Sample and deliver water samples from customer sites.
  • Perform on site tests and quality control checks in accordance with South East Water and Water Quality regulatory standards.
  • Update our electronic system to register samples, ensuring details and tests are entered correctly and completely.
  • Ensure to adhere to the methods, procedures, quality systems and Health and Safety requirements set out within the laboratory.
  • Provide assistance to other areas of Laboratory Services e.g. bottle preparation; stock control

What do you bring to the role?

  • Good Customer Service
  • Clean Driver’s Licence
  • Good Standard of Maths and English at GCSE Level
  • Confident using IT equipment to fulfil your role.
  • An understanding of Private water supply regulations and water hygiene would be advantageous
