Description
Little Lambs was established in 2012 by Katie. Over the years it has grown from a childminders to a mini nursery. We care for children until they leave for primary school, in a unique home from home setting based in Pentire, Newquay.
•To be trained to undertake responsibilities as childcare assistant
•To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
•Work (under supervision) with children in the setting, to provide all aspects of care and supporting learning opportunities, which may include washing, changing and feeding
•Undertake training to obtain recognised qualifications, including completing assignments on time, and attending all College sessions/ tutorials (if applicable);
•Uphold standards within the Setting by adhering to all policies and procedures.
•Strive to safeguard children by working to the organisation’s safeguarding Code of Conduct.
•Know and implement the Setting’s confidentiality policy.
Benefits
We offer you a uniform, parking, staff events twice a year, we close at Christmas for 2 weeks, all bank holidays and also a week in August.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Little Lambs Childcare will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
- Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through Little Lambs Childcares dedicated training provider, Realise.
