Description

We are looking for an apprentice to join our growing firm.

Studying for Level 3 AAT apprenticeship qualification will provide the fundamentals of bookkeeping and accounting. It is a fully funding course involving day release to Exeter College.

However, the real value of an apprenticeship undertaken at Peplows is the time gaining valuable work experience alongside the rest of the tax team. Experience may also be gained in accounting and bookkeeping. The exact duties and responsibilities of the position will vary according to the location and department.

Typical duties include:

· Collating and processing tax information to provide a draft tax return for review and approval

· Recording financial transactions using a variety of software including Xero and Sage

· Producing draft sets of accounts ready to be reviewed and approved

· Processing correspondence for clients, HMRC and other third parties.

· Further duties and responsibilities of similar level as required.

  • Ability to take responsibility for prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
  • Accurate, methodical and inquisitive approach to work
  • Strong ICT skills including a good working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English 4/C or above.
Level 3 AAT apprenticeship at Exeter College

  • Motivated and highly effective whether working independently or as part of a team
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude

The successful candidate will have the potential opportunity to become a permanent member of the department.
Possibility for the role to be in Newton Abbott if successful candidate preferred.
