Degree Apprenticeship in Electro-mechanical EngineeringHere's what you'll be doing

At E.ON, we're more than a provider of gas and electricity, we're shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. Our energy solutions span district heating systems, on-site generation, highways lighting and other innovative energy services that help customers take control of their energy use. Working with the latest technologies, we're always seeking new and improved ways to shape the energy landscape.

During the programme, you'll have the opportunity to select placements based on your interests and career goals, such as:

  • Designing sustainable district heating systems to help decarbonise cities.
  • Collaborating with clients on pioneering solar energy projects, supporting their shift to renewable energy.
  • Optimising the performance of critical assets to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
  • Working on advanced technologies such as hydrogen production, heat pumps, and carbon capture solutions.
What we need from you
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Grade 4 or above in English Language and Grade 5 or above in Maths.
  • 3 A-levels (or equivalent) with at least a Grade B in A-level Maths and two additional A-levels at Grade B (or equivalent). Note: citizenship skills, general studies, and critical thinking are not accepted. OR
  • A relevant BTEC Engineering qualification, a preceding level apprenticeship, or equivalent demonstrable work experience in the field, which we will review on a case-by-case basis.

  • After your first couple of years on placement, we may encourage you to work at one of our operational sites, such as Sheffield or London, to deepen your skills and understanding of the wider business.
  • Your degree will be completed on a block-release basis, with approximately four five-day blocks on campus each year.
  • We offer a competitive starting salary, with potential for pay progression throughout your apprenticeship based on academic and placement performance.
