Description
At Daffodils outdoor Nursery they encourage children’s creativity and imagination to ensure they capture the magic of childhood and give all children the opportunity to reach their full potential in every area of development.
As an apprentice you will be required to:
- To supervise the children where appropriate and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations.
- To share any child protection concerns immediately with the Nursery Manager.
- To provide a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and well-being.
- To be aware of children’s special educational needs and support these children effectively as directed by the nursery Inclusion Lead and manager.
- To contribute to the nursery planning system (focus weeks and planning) with observations and assessments of children and record learning.
- To maintain a safe working environment for both staff and children. This will involve light cleaning duties and ground/garden maintenance due to the nature of our outdoor setting.
- To contribute to and attend his/her supervisions and staff appraisal.
- To attend regular team meetings.
- To attend any conferences, training events or meetings as identified by the Nursery Manager and to keep up to date with current good practice.
- To adhere to the nursery’s policies and code of practice on confidentiality.
- To promote the ethos of the nursery setting at all times.
- To perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the Nursery Manager.
The right apprentice will be required to work Mon - Thurs 7:45am - 5:45pm

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Daffodils Outdoor Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through Daffodils Outdoor Nursery dedicated training provider, Realise.

Full time qualified member of staff with progression opportunities
We are an outdoor nursery, so candidates need to be comfortable spending time in our Forest School and engaging in outdoor activities. We also have cozy indoor spaces for the team to use when needed.
