Work Pattern: Hybrid (minimum of 2 days on a Schneider Electric site)
Role Mission:
As a Commercial Operations Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience and expertise while developing a deep understanding of contract lifecycle processes, supplier relationships, and risk management practices. You will learn to contribute to the effective management of contracts, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships. Through dedication and learning, you will support the organisation in achieving excellence in contract management and delivering value to Schneider Electric stakeholders.
You will be provided with exposure, education, and experience while gaining valuable insights into the operations of a global sustainability organisation. This will offer you the opportunity to build problem-solving, communication, commercial, and legal skills, creating a positive impact on business success and leading to a rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract and Proposal Preparation: Collaborate with experienced professionals to prepare contracts and proposals.
Documentation Management: Support the contracting team in maintaining and organising contract-related documentation and records.
Skill Development: Participate in learning activities to develop a comprehensive understanding of contracting skills.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have:
- Minimum of 5 National 5s (Grade 4/C or above), including English and Mathematics.
Desirable:
- Higher qualification(s) to at least a Grade B, preferably in English (A-level is also acceptable).
No previous experience required.
Training Provider: QA – Online Blended and Work Based Learning (Training Providers could be subject to change based on availability of course or organisational needs).
During your apprenticeship, you will receive two types of training.
On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform your role. This will include skills and knowledge that are outside of the apprenticeship but necessary for the job. In addition to ‘on-the-job’ training, they will support you in other ways to ensure your success. Types of support will include:
- A comprehensive induction
- Mentoring or regular one-to-one guidance
- Social enrichment and networking opportunities
- Performance reviews
- Mental health and wellbeing support
- Feedback opportunities
Off-the-job training will be provided by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (approximately 6 hours per week) completing ‘off-the-job’ training. This is protected time and a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard, enabling you to achieve occupational competence.
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship and depending on your performance, there may be an opportunity for you to transition into a permanent role at Schneider Electric!
