Role Mission:

As a Supply Chain Planning Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in global supply chain operations while learning from industry-leading professionals. Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management: Manage daily supply chain issues, ensuring materials are available to meet production targets.

Planning & Adjustment: Review and adjust planning parameters, such as minimum stock levels and lead times.

Invoice & Order Management: Handle invoice queries, purchase orders, and non-compliant deliveries.

Shipping & Documentation: Organise and consolidate the necessary shipping and logistical documents.

Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the shipment of goods and manage all associated documents.

Stock Management: Take action to resolve product shortages and ensure stock availability.

Cross-Department Communication: Communicate with other departments to improve processes and meet customer needs.

Supply Risk Management: Help manage supply risks by tracking project priorities and delivery schedules.

Supplier Collaboration: Attend supplier meetings and provide feedback to enhance supplier performance.

Essential

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including Maths and English.
  • 3 A Levels at Grade CCC or above, including Mathematics and English.


No previous experience is required.

Training Provider: Aston University, Birmingham - Block release (Training Providers could be subject to change based on availability of course or organisational needs).


During your apprenticeship, you will receive two types of training.


On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform your role. This will include skills and knowledge that are outside of the apprenticeship but necessary for the job. In addition to ‘on-the-job’ training, they will support you in other ways to ensure your success. Types of support will include:

  • A comprehensive induction
  • Mentoring or regular one-to-one guidance
  • Social enrichment and networking opportunities
  • Performance reviews
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Feedback opportunities

Off-the-job training will be provided by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (approximately 6 hours per week) completing ‘off-the-job’ training. This is protected time and a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard, enabling you to achieve occupational competence.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship and depending on your performance, there may be an opportunity for you to transition into a permanent role at Schneider Electric!
