Work Pattern: Site Based (Manufacturing Plant)


Role Mission:

As a Data Analyst Apprentice within Schneider Electric's digital team, you'll focus on manufacturing to harness data analysis and IT capabilities. Your role will enhance production processes, optimise the performance of manufacturing tools, and extract valuable insights. This is a pivotal position in advancing digital manufacturing solutions and driving operational excellence.

At the Leeds plant, Schneider Electric specialises in manufacturing and assembling electrical distribution and control equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and components that support energy management and automation solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Digital Tool Understanding & Support: Understand the suite of digital tools used at Schneider Electric and support their deployment and utilisation.

Production Team Support: Support production teams in their day-to-day activities, helping them effectively use digital tools.

Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with data governance rules and cybersecurity standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements.

Data Model & Database Development: Develop and maintain data models and databases to support manufacturing analytics and reporting needs.

Essential

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have:

  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and an additional STEM subject at grade 4/C or above.
  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points (post-GCSE studies must include STEM subjects, ideally Physics, and an A Level in Maths at grade B).
  • A demonstrable interest in engineering.


No previous experience is required.

Training Provider: The University of Warwick, Coventry - Block release (Training Providers could be subject to change based on availability of course or organisational needs).


During your apprenticeship, you will receive two types of training.


On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform your role. This will include skills and knowledge that are outside of the apprenticeship but necessary for the job. In addition to ‘on-the-job’ training, they will support you in other ways to ensure your success. Types of support will include:

  • A comprehensive induction
  • Mentoring or regular one-to-one guidance
  • Social enrichment and networking opportunities
  • Performance reviews
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Feedback opportunities

Off-the-job training will be provided by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (approximately 6 hours per week) completing ‘off-the-job’ training. This is protected time and a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard, enabling you to achieve occupational competence.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship and depending on your performance, there may be an opportunity for you to transition into a permanent role at Schneider Electric!
