Description
To ensure that a high quality financial processing support service is provided to the Trust central Finance team. In addition, to ensure financial and administrative procedures are adhered to in the processing of all financial information. To provide general advice and guidance on established financial procedures.
Purchasing
- Responsible for sourcing central purchases as appropriate.
- Responsible for creating and processing central Purchase Orders and dealing with any deliveries.
- Ensure that new suppliers are added to the finance system and changes to bank details are actioned, after carrying out appropriate checks.
- Responsible for reviewing outstanding orders on a monthly basis and liaising with schools and suppliers.
- Responsible for ensuring that appropriate quotes have been sought by schools and assisting where required.
- Monitor the finance inbox and be the first line of communication with stakeholders.
Invoicing
- Ensure that invoices are processed accurately and in line with the deadlines of the timeframes specified in the finance processing in a processing including o Coding invoices correctly.
- Accounting correctly for VAT.
- Checking coding on invoices processed at academy level.
- Scanning invoices.
- Payment of invoices in a timely manner and in line with agreed credit terms.
- Responsible for processing payment runs.
- Responsible for processing other payments such as monthly 16-19 Bursary allocations, and reconciling amounts paid to the financial accounts.
- Responsible for checking supplier statements and following up any discrepancies.
- Responsible for accounting for petty cash transactions and ensuring the monthly reconciliations of balances.
Charge Cards
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of Charge Card statements. Responsible for maintaining a list of charge card holders and limits across the Trust.
Budget monitoring
- General administration and dealing with queries.
- Responsible for the issue and collation of annual budget holder agreements.
- Responsible for maintaining a list of budget holders across the Trust.
- Produce monthly budget holder reports and spend analysis, and liaise with budget holders.
Financial Management
- Collate energy data on a monthly basis for annual SECR reporting.
- Collate other information for the SECR return on an annual basis.
- Responsible for the issue and collation of annual Business Interests forms across the Trust.
- Collate other information for the statutory accounts as directed.
- Work with internal and external auditors, producing and collating documentation as requested.
General Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training and briefings as appropriate.
- Be aware of, and comply with all Trust policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
- Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Trust.

Leodis is a Multi-Academy Trust comprising Blackgates Primary, East Ardsley Primary, Hill Top Primary, Westerton Primary and Woodkirk Academy.
The post holder will be based primarily at Blackgates Primary Academy initially – this may change to another site in the future. On occasion there will be a requirement to work across the other sites within the Trust.

Foundation covers the basic principles of accountancy, and is your starting point if you’ve never studied accountancy before. You’ll learn the basic principles of accountancy, such as double-entry bookkeeping, costing and preparing financial statements, as well as how to use accountancy software.
This level is ideal if you’re new to accountancy and finance, have previously worked in an accounts department, or are looking to change your career into Accountancy.
To pass this level, you'll be examined on five units. All assessments are computer-based exams (CBE). The area you will cover include:
- Bookkeeping transactions.
- Bookkeeping controls.
- Elements of costing.
- Using accounting software.
- Foundation Synoptic Assessment.
Training will be provided either via classroom or remote sessions. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of their time towards it.

Level 3 will be offered to suitable candidate upon completion of Level 2.
