Description

Environmental Management Apprentices. You will be learning theoretical, technical and professional skills needed to work as an environmental analyst or manager in public, private and third-sector organisations.

Working hours: 36 hours Monday- Friday.

Programme Length: 5 years.

Training provider details: Coventry University where you will complete two, three-day blocks per semester and rest virtual delivery for the programme.

Qualification you will obtain: Level 6 Environmental Practitioner Apprenticeship & BSC (Hons) Environmental Management degree.

Entry Requirements: Entry requirements for this Level 6 qualification are 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English and 112 UCAS tariff points. (equivalent to BBC at A-level, excludes General Studies).

Don’tworry if you dont have your grades yet, if you are due to sit your exams thisyear,we still want to hear ifyour predicted grades meet our requirements.

Other immediate demands: Driving is desirable but not essential but you must be able to commute to the office when required.

Step three: You will be sent a link to book a telephone call with a member of our Resourcing Team this is a chance for us to get to know you better and where we will check if you are eligible for the apprenticeship.

Step 4: If you are successful in our screening process you will be invited to an in-person assessment which will include a group exercise and a competency-based interview.

Assessment Centre Dates: Assessments will be held in April and you will be invited for a morning or afternoon session.

What you will be doing as an Environmental Management Apprentice - Level 6

As part of Thames Water’s Capital Delivery department, you will be part of a wider team responsible for building new and upgrading existing infrastructure. Working alongside senior environmental professionals you will support large infrastructure projects from beginning to end, all whilst gaining the expertise needed to:

  • Assist in identifying the environmental risks associated with capital projects.
  • Suggest appropriate next steps to manage the risks identified.
  • Highlight opportunities for biodiversity enhancement.
  • Ensure projects are delivered sustainably and consider carbon on delivery methods.
  • Liaise with environmental regulators to ensure they are satisfied with our activities.
  • Identify opportunities where improvements could be made.
  • Collaborate with environmental colleagues to ensure a joined-up and consistent approach.
  • Carry out site visits with senior colleagues to ensure compliance.
  • Provide environmental technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
