Description

The Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You’ll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home.

The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps. You can read more about the qualification being offered for this apprenticeship below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES 


  • Be the ‘go to’ resource to answer Sales queries about C4 content whether that be on linear, VOD or social.
  • Support the operational side of the team when required on a regular basis
  • Maximise revenue through inventory control and strategic ad placements
  • Support Agency Sales by providing packages and solutions that meet client demands
  • Work with the team to run and manage daily, weekly and monthly reporting Liaise on a regular basis with Channel management, Commissioning and Content Management in order to maintain Ad Sales interests
  • Support the Team in the creation and presentation of content and analytical decks
  • Seek to find new and better solutions for C4 and their clients.


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION


The Sales Operations team focuses on maximizing revenue from all viewing platforms in the 4Sales portfolio, including linear TV, VoD, and social media. They ensure high-quality service for both Sales and customers, managing direct and programmatic deals. The team explores new ways to create value through systems, processes, and trading opportunities while communicating and forecasting content needs.

They also work with external vendors and key internal teams to develop plans, manage day-to-day operations, solve problems, and address any questions related to content, data, forecasting, and operations.

  • Verbal and written communication skills - Verbal - e.g. experience of dealing with customers or working as part of a team. Communication – e.g. writing emails, completing an application form or essay, or if you have a hobby that involves creative writing.
  • Attention to detail - e.g. Cashing up on tills or proofreading coursework.
  • Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks - e.g. Planning events whether personal or for professional purposes, as well as managing work life balance, for example working whilst doing coursework/exams.
  • An understanding of and a passion for Channel 4's remit
  • Confirm you have Maths & English GCSE Grade C (4) or above
  • You’ll enjoy identifying trends and drawing conclusions
  • Your previous studies will have given you experience with numbers, analytics or forecasting. e.g. trend analysis in Maths, Physics, Computer or Data science
  • You are motivated by finding innovative solutions e.g. overcoming deadline issues with coursework, finding clever ways to answer or solve problems.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

  • You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply. There is no upper age limit.
  • You’ll need to have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE
  • You can’t have already completed the qualification being offered or similar at the same or higher level

  • Can you share with Channel 4 why representation and inclusion matter to you, and why you think they are important? (300 words max)
  • Please share a list of your current qualifications, including those you expect to obtain before the January 2025 start of this apprenticeship. Channel 4 requires this information to ensure your eligibility for the apprenticeship you are applying for.
  • You will be working a lot with the Forecasting team – Can you give an example in your life or studies where you’ve had to identify trends or had to draw conclusions? (500 words max)
  • You’ll often have to help find solutions to problems – Can you give an example where you’ve overcome a problem with an innovative solution? (500 words max)
  • Ultimately the role, while analytical in nature still revolves around Channel 4's content, with that in mind what is your favourite show and why? (500 words max)
