What’s in it for you?



As an IT Cloud Systems Apprentice, you'll be at the forefront of operating and maintaining the cloud environments of DXC customers. Your mission? To deliver agile and secure managed services on cloud platforms, boost automation and security, ensure high service availability, and achieve top-notch customer satisfaction.



Your role:



Here’s what you’ll be doing:





  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Keep an eye on systems, respond to incidents, and handle service requests.


  • Service Execution: Work on service requests logged by customers and ensure they’re resolved efficiently.


  • Team Collaboration: Join forces with team members to tackle incoming actions and issues.


  • Continuous Improvement: Help the team enhance services through automation and proactive measures.


  • Automation & Scripting: Drive automation by scripting repeatable tasks and improving monitoring metrics.


  • Problem Solving: Fix root causes of incidents by contributing code fixes or design changes.


  • Innovation: Identify areas for improvement and contribute to development teams with relevant automation and operation enhancements.




What we’re looking for:





  • Passion for Cloud Technology: A strong desire to dive into cloud tech and analysis.


  • Resilience: Ability to work under pressure and stay cool.


  • Continuous Learner: Always eager to learn and stay updated with industry trends.


  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.

This vocational apprenticeship comprehensively supports your specific job role with this particular employer. Throughout your learning journey, you are fully supported by your dedicated QA skills coach and your mentor at work. They ensure you settle in, help you develop all the skills you need to be successful in your job role and pass your assessments, and can provide one to one support.
Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.



On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
