Description

All general yard duties to include:

  • Mucking Out, sweeping yard
  • Poo Picking
  • Turning horses in and out , picking out feet and changing rugs.
  • Grooming and tacking up and untacking.
  • Filling haynets and cleaning and filling water buckets
  • Feeding
  • Possibility to groom at shows
  • Possibility of riding and competing for right candidate

Must have good basic horse experience and be confident handling big competition horses.

Level 4+ in GCSEs / Level 1+ in Functional Skills desirable but not essential.

Contact Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English


Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training, along with maths and English functional skills if required.

The ideal candidate will be able to;

  • work well as part of a team
  • have a love of horses whatever the weather!
  • be a friendly person.
Progression to the Level 3 Senior Groom.

Possibility of full time position on completion of the apprenticeship.

This is a rural location which is not accessible by public transport, so please make sure you can get there and back daily before applying, there is a possibility of a lift if you live locally.


There is no accommodation available , but there is the possibility of livery for own horse.
