Description

Moss Side Village Playgroup is a committee run nursery that has been established in the community for many years.

They are looking for a childcare apprentice to provide daily support in the breakfast & after school club and assistance in supporting staff & children in nursery setting.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning a weekly programme of activities
  • Setting up the play area
  • Assisting with the collection of children from school and walking them back to the community centre
  • Supporting the children in play and also with cleaning and tidying resources.

Shifts - Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm.

  • A level 2 qualification in early years - desirable, or willingness to attend a 6 week accelerated programme.
  • A level 2 or equivalent in maths and English - preferable

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Moss Side Village Playgroup will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This will be delivered through Moss Side Village Playgroup dedicated training provider, Realise.
