The Role:



The IT Support Engineer function has an important role to play in helping teachers to teach and
learners to learn. As one of a team of IT Support Engineers your role will be to provide a first-class
level of support to education users. Working to ITIL best practices you will strive to work collaboratively with the service desk to meet contractual SLA targets, escalating where appropriate but always ensuring that the customer is kept up to date. The role will suit someone who enjoys solving IT problems through excellent troubleshooting and supporting users who may not necessarily have IT backgrounds.



Key Duties:





  • To be the customer face of RM, ensuring our customers receive great service.


  • To assist the service desk with the delivery of the IT managed support service.


  • Provide school-based users with technical assistance and report service issues in accordance with the service desk policies.


  • Resolving issues with hardware, software, and network systems


  •  Installing computers, printers, phones, and other devices.


  • Ensuring devices are properly configured to work within the network environment.




Required Skills:





  • Strong multitasking and problem solving abilities.


  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, via phone


  • Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities


  • Customer focused


  • Flexible to cope with change, be proactive and adapt quickly to a developing type of service delivery




Entry Requirements:



  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject


  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)


  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject




You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
