Description
At Longwood school and nursery our practitioners are a dedicated, lovely family; many of them have been at Longwood for over ten years. The team works hard to organise a range of carefully planned, as well as free play, activities to help the children achieve their potential. These involve indoor and outdoor climbing equipment.
As a Nursery Apprentice you will be expected to provide the highest level of care and education for children attending the nursery. Whilst you are gaining hands on experience in a high quality childcare setting you will be working towards recognised childcare qualifications.
What will you be doing:
- providing a safe and inspiring environment for children to learn through play.
- supporting the children to learn through play achieving their developmental milestone.
- supporting children with learning opportunities.
- supporting children with their self care routines.
- work towards building and maintaining a strong parent partnerships.
Salary is between £7.50 - £8.50 depending on age and previous experience.

- Ideally have L2 or some childcare experience or can be new to the role and just have a passion for childcare.
- 6 week online Skills Bootcamp option available or the right candidate.
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Longwood School and Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through Longwood School and Nursery’s dedicated training provider, Realise.
