Opportunity Details
Family run livery and training yard based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire seeks equine groom apprentice. September start, or sooner for the right candidate.
Plenty of opportunities for the right candidate - 20 horse yard, excellent facilities, indoor stables, lunge pen, horse walker, indoor and outdoor arena. Riding a possibility.
Duties to include:
- Turning out and bringing in
- Mucking out
- Dealing with livery clients
- Feeding, watering and haying
- Grooming
- Clipping and trimming
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
- Bandaging
- Tacking up
- Lunging/long rein
Must have previous experience in horse care and be a team player. Not accessible by public transport.

GCSE grade 4 or above in maths and English is desirable but not essential.
Training
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

Progression onto the Level 3 Senior Groom a possibility after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Other Information
There is no public transport to the yard, so ability to travel to and from is essential.
There is no accommodation available on site.
Livery for your own horse is a possibility
5 days per week to include 1 weekend day. Hours worked per week can be negotiated at interview.

Sophie has competed up to the new 3* format.There is self contained accommodation available on site,and possibility of livery for your own horse is welcome.This apprenticeship will allow you to learn everything about professional eventing.

Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship

Professional Livery yard that also has a riding school, sales yard and is an affiliated event centre. You will be looking after a variety of horses completing horse care tasks.
