Description

Matt Lanni is one of the most highly qualified coaches in British Showjumping, and the owner of Halefield Stud. Based in Peterborough, PE8 5EG the successful candidate will be working on an exceptional yard with an array of excellent faciities. In return, the successful apprentice will be experienced with horses, a confident rider and ready to undertake a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom role. Level 2 will also be considered.

Onsite facilities include:

  • Indoor and Outdoor Stables
  • Outdoor Arena
  • Grass Gallops
  • Horse Walker
  • Competition and Sales Livery

The right candidate will be invited to groom at shows and be able to ride as part of their qualification.

The role will include:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Dealing with livery clients
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long rein
  • Riding/hacking
  • Attending shows/events

    • You must be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more to apply for this role. If you have a Level 3 Equine qualification already you are unable to apply for this programme.

    • Experience working with and handling horses

    A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
    All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

    Livery for your own horse may be available

    Interview will consist of completing a successful trial at the yard.

    Hours of work will be between 7:30am and 5pm to include breaks. This will be 5 days per week to include some weekend working.
