The employer will support the right candidate to undergo a high level of training on-site and via online course work.

The apprenticeship is based onsite therefore, not much of time in a classroom. If you didn't gain your GCSE grades in Maths & English we can support you whilst on programme..

Must have the correct mindset to work to a constant high standard. Animal care experience in essential (such as having your own pets).
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

The team member they are looking for must have a passion for animals and their care and an understanding that animal welfare is a priority. They must also strike to deliver the the highest standard of wellbeing, enrichment and care of animals and understand that it must be must be maintained at all times. The employer are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable.
  • Has a positive attitude.
  • A team player.
  • Able to follow instructions correctly.

Upon completion, the right candidate will have the opportunity for long term employment and to progress as a team leader or coordinator. The employer likes to grow their team from within. There may also be an opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 apprenticeship.

The employer works on a rota system over a 7 day period. Successful candidates will work 5 days per week. Working hours will be 6.45am-12pm and 3-6pm so applicants must be able to travel to and from the premises twice per day. Weekend hours vary.

Stephanie Holker is the chief instructor at Red Earth Equestrian Centre. She gained all her teaching and horse care qualifications at the Yorkshire riding centre in Harrogate under Christopher bartle and Jane bartle-Wilson. Stephanie has been successfully teaching since the riding school opened in 2006. Stephanie and her father Clive began the business with a small client base but this soon grew and she now has over 100 clients on the school horses and also with people bringing their own horses up to the centre.The working hours for this role will be between 30-40 hours per week with one weekend day.
