Opportunity Details

Reporting to the Office Manager/Director, you will support the day-to-day running of the office and develop a wide range of administrative, organisational and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

General Administration

  • Handle inbound and outbound telephone calls

  • Manage and maintain electronic filing systems (files and folders)

  • Photocopying and scanning documents to email

  • Email communications with colleagues, clients and suppliers

  • Maintain efficient and accurate manual filing systems where necessary

Reception and Client Support

  • Meet and greet visitors and clients, answering enquiries as first point of contact

  • Support with reception duties and represent the company professionally

Marketing & Office Support

  • Assist with marketing tasks and projects

  • Clear and set up meeting rooms, providing refreshments and support during meetings

Business Processes

  • Develop working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) towards advanced level

  • Process sales functions including orders, allocation, invoicing and dispatch

  • Check and verify orders

  • Conduct stock checking

  • Handle the annual complimentary client diary and sales lists process

  • Produce documents, sales graphs and reports

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSE English (Grade 4/C or above)

  • GCSE Maths (Grade 4/C or above)

(If you already have relevant qualifications or experience, the apprenticeship can be adapted to reflect your existing knowledge.)

  • Strong communication and IT skills

  • Attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Customer care and problem-solving abilities

  • Presentation and administrative skills

  • Confidence with numbers, analytical and logical thinking

  • Team working, creativity and initiative

  • Non-judgemental approach and patience

Future Prospects

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have gained a strong foundation in office administration with opportunities for progression into higher-level administrative, office management, or business support roles.
