Trainee Early Years Practitioner Level 3
Key areas:
1. To work with the children.
2. To attend training.
3. To complete all assignments set.
4. To be part of a team.
5. To attend associated training.
6. To liase with your mentor.
Responsible to:
Mentor, Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Proprietor.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Attending college and completing work on time.
2. To attend team meetings and input ideas.
3. Under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
4. To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
5. To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
6. To be aware and abide to the nursery confidentiality policy and all other policies.
Team work:
1. To support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
2. To attend ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings, summer fayres, Christmas party’s etc.
General:
1. Continue to provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the nursery.
2. To undertake such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee’s supervisor from time to time.
3. Ensure that food provision is carried out within the guidelines of the food safety act 1990 and the Early Years Foundation Stage nutrition guidance, and is balanced and healthy in accordance with the dietary requirements.
Direct play work:
1. Ensure that, a wide range of creative and enjoyable activities are offered.
2. Ensure that play meets the full range of children’s individual and group needs.
Miscellaneous:
1. To promote the aims and objectives of the nursery and use as a guide for daily activities.
2. Be aware of staff policies and procedures.
3. To be a good role model at all times to the children.
4. To respect the nurseries policies and procedures and to follow them accordingly.

Qualifications Required
Level 3 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner or experience/knowledge/skills will be considered.
Training
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Early Years Educator Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.
