What You'll Be DoingAs a Trainee Associate Quantity Surveyor, you'll work across our project portfolio, supporting key commercial and contractual activities such as:
- Validating actual costs and supporting cost assurance.
- Reviewing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
- Assisting with tender activities and invoice reconciliation.
- Supporting risk management workshops and post-project reviews.
- Engaging with stakeholders and contractors to ensure value and compliance.
This role involves regular travel to site locations, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You'll be provided with a company car for both business and personal use (subject to BIK tax; no cash alternative available).
Who We're Looking ForWe welcome applicants from any degree background that is not Quantity Surveying (minimum 2:2). You'll be studying an MSc in Quantity Surveying as a degree conversion therefore your degree cannot already be quantity surveying. You need at least one year of professional experience demonstrating:
- Commercial awareness and cost management principles.
- Contractual Awareness.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Expect to cover over 10,000 miles annually across our regions in England and Wales (North or Central Regions). You'll be onsite for up to five days a week, which may include overnight stays in pre-booked accommodation. In addition to your site travels, you'll attend on the job training at our training centre in Eakring, Newark and classroom sessions at university weekly. This means you'll have overnight stays away from home during the training period as well as the role itself.
