Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our 1st Line Support team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start a career in IT, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognized qualification. You'll play a key role in supporting end users, helping to resolve IT issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
You’ll be responsible for:
- The first point of contact for IT support via phone, email and ticketing system.
- Log, categorise and prioritise incoming support requests accurately.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software and network issues.
- Assist with setting up and configuring PCs, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Escalate more complex issues to the internal Support team where appropriate.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as password resets and user account management.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of support tasks and resolutions.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process of staff by setting up or deactivating IT accounts and equipment.
- Participate in training and development activities as part of the apprenticeship.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including data protection and security best practices.
About you:

- You might already enjoy helping friends or family with their tech issues, and you’re keen to turn that interest into a career.
- You’re reliable, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.

Required skills:
- Keen interest in IT and technology.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A helpful and patient attitude with a customer-focused approach.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
In addition, the following experience would be beneficial:
- Some experience with IT (e.g., through school, personal projects, or work experience).
- Familiarity with common IT systems such as Active Directory or Office 365.
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:
The team work on a 9-day rota over 2 weeks, so they get a day off every fortnight. 75 hours over 2 weeks, between 8am – 5:30 on a rota.
