Don't let anyone tell you that an apprenticeship means less than going to uni!
As part of my apprenticeship, I currently work in the Derivatives team, where I do transactional work and assist associates. I decided to pursue an apprenticeship as I found that the opportunities were far greater than if I had just gone to university. I knew I wanted a career in Law, and for me, to be able to gain experience while studying for my degree was invaluable.
If I could give any advice to someone thinking of doing an apprenticeship, it would be to not let anyone tell you that this career path means any less than going to uni. The experience you receive is so extremely valuable and will get you set on an excellent route.
Many people thought I was wasting my time and intelligence by taking on an apprenticeship as opposed to going to uni. However, now they have seen the doors that have opened to me by doing an apprenticeship, they are far more understanding of my choice. It’s definitely been the correct option for me!
