You could start by taking a college course in construction or joinery. These courses would teach you some of the skills you need in this job and may help you when looking for a trainee position with a glazing company. Courses include:

You could become a site supervisor, window surveyor or estimator, or move into glazing sales and marketing. You could also set up your own business or take up a window fitting franchise.
Helicopter engineers service and repair helicopters.
Engineering craft machinists make parts for manufacturing and engineering industries, using lathes, cutters and grinders.
Rail track maintenance workers inspect and repair railway tracks, bridges, tunnels and viaducts.
Mechanical engineers develop and design the components and machinery used in manufacturing, construction and other industries.
Vending machine operators fill, maintain and collect money from machines that dispense products like drinks and snacks.
Rail engineering technicians install and service mechanical and electrical systems across the rail network

Your apprenticeship will last 36 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Water Industry Treatment Process Technician, Level: 3 (wastewater pathway) standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.You will need to be mobile in this role, well contribute up to 500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!
