Agricultural engineers build, service and repair agricultural, horticultural and forestry machinery and equipment.
You'll usually need at least 1 A-Level, or equivalent, for a foundation degree. You'll need between 1 and 3 A-Levels, or equivalent, for a higher national diploma or degree.

Your day-to-day duties might include:
With experience you could move into project management or specialist technical research and development. You could also work towards incorporated or chartered engineer status by applying to the Engineering Council. As a chartered engineer you’ll plan, research and develop new ideas. You could also move into technical sales, business development, teaching or consultancy work.
Nuclear technicians maintain equipment and monitor radiation levels in nuclear power stations.
Forest officers manage forestry workers, plan harvesting activities and monitor planted areas.
Agronomists advise farmers on soil management and crop production.
Aerospace engineering technicians design, build, test and repair civil and military aircraft.
Electronics engineers design and develop systems for industry, from mobile communications to manufacturing and aerospace.
Foundry process operators make metal castings and parts used in industry.

Your apprenticeship will last 36 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Water Industry Treatment Process Technician, Level: 3 (wastewater pathway) standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.You will need to be mobile in this role, well contribute up to 500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!
