You could do a college course, which would teach you some of the skills you need in this job. Relevant courses include:
You'll usually need 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or equivalent, for a Level 2 course. You'll need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, for a Level 3 course.
You can complete a Level 2 or 3 apprenticeship as a motorcycle mechanic. To get onto an apprenticeship, you'll find it useful to have 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, for a Level 3 apprenticeship. You'll need some GCSEs, usually including English and maths, or equivalent, for a Level 2 apprenticeship.
Volunteering
You'll find it useful to contact a local workshop or garage for work experience. You can also volunteer to work at road racing or motocross events organised by Auto-Cycle Union and AMCA.

You could work at a garage or in a workshop. Your working environment may be noisy and dirty. You may need to wear protective clothing.
You could become a motorcycle diagnostic technician, workshop manager or train for a career as a motorcycle MOT examiner. You could also start your own sales and repair business or specialise in customised bike building.
Auto electricians fit and repair the electrics in motor vehicles.
Nuclear engineers are responsible for the safe running of nuclear power stations.
Hydrologists study the impact of rainfall, rivers and waterways on the environment. They also look at sustainable ways to use water.
Railway signallers operate the signals and points on rail tracks to keep trains running safely and on time.
Electronics engineering technicians design, build and maintain electronic systems and components.
Signalling technicians maintain and repair rail telecommunications equipment and signalling systems.

Your apprenticeship will last 36 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Water Industry Treatment Process Technician, Level: 3 (wastewater pathway) standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.You will need to be mobile in this role, well contribute up to 500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!
